The Amplify Conference is a major event hosted by HP, where the company can showcase all of its new technologies. This year’s conference which was held in Nashville, TN from March 17-19, brought all of HP’s latest advances under one roof with the theme of “Driving the Future Together.”

While much of Amplify 2025 focused on the role that AI can play in the world we live in, whether it is with laptops and computers, software and more, HP is also a huge force in the digital printing world. At Amplify 2025, HP showcased its new HP Latex R530 printer, an all-in-one printer that can run both flexible and rigid media, which it will also be highlighting at the upcoming ISA Sign Expo 2025, April 23-25 in Las Vegas.

Oscar Vidal, global director, product portfolio & strategy for HP Large Format, said that introducing the new HP Latex R530 is a “special moment” for HP.

“We are truly excited about the potential the HP Latex R530 printer has for the industry,” said Vidal. “The HP Latex R530 is a new concept in the sense that is allows for all-in-one printing, as it can print on rigid boards as well as flexible applications such as banners, paper and plastic films.”

The ability to print on both rigid and flexible substrates is an important development, and a trend that was clear at the 2024 PRINTING United as numerous press manufacturers were highlighting the convenience that having an all-in-one printer offers. Vidal observed that the versatility to quickly switch substrates is definitely a draw for printers.

“The HP Latex R530 printer can be switched from roll-to-roll to rigid board in less than three minutes, which is very convenient for small to medium-sized shops,” Vidal said. “The HP Latex R530 can run anything from simple vinyl or polypropylene to brushed aluminum. With our all-in-one press, this will set new rules of the game. It is easy to learn – customers are telling us that within 24 hours they were ready to perfectly run the machine – and it also has a very compact design.”

In terms of inks, the Latex R530 will be launched with HP’s latest generation of Latex inks.

“We will be using our latest generation of Latex Inks, six colors plus white, which provides a fantastic color gamut,” said Vidal. “Sustainability is front and center for us, and our inks are all water-based and UV ECOLOGO certified, which allows our customers to be more sustainable and create very interesting, sustainable products.”

Another interesting addition is the HP Print OS Production Hub, which Vidal noted is an evolution of HP’s existing software Print OS. The HP PrintOS Production Hub is designed for order management and remote production control.

“The HP Production Hub is more print-job oriented, adding another layer for the smaller print shops who want to be able to better track the orders on a daily and hourly basis rather than track it with pen and paper,” he observed. “This will help printers track and schedule their orders, which is ideal for print shops with four or five employees. This full control is what our customers want.”

Vidal said that the beta tests on the HP Latex R530 printer have been successful.

“We have had beta testing for quite some time, and the feedback is extremely positive,” Vidal reported. “This printer is tailored to the shops looking to deliver for their clients. In this case, the loading of the substrate is very simple; we want to make sure that the speed is right from beginning to end, from loading to printing to unloading. This is what our customers are asking us for.”
